Here's the thing about looking rested and glowy in December: it isn't a treatment, it's a calendar. Every year I walk clients through the same backwards math, so this year I'm writing it down. Find your biggest night of the season and plan in reverse from there. (Yes, this is the same logic as my bridal and prom timelines — big nights all obey the same physics.)
Four to six weeks out: do the deep work now
Anything corrective — chemical peels, serious resurfacing, a peel series you've been meaning to finish — belongs in early-to-mid November. Deeper treatments need recovery room, and results like faded pigment and smoother texture take weeks to fully show. My personal rule for clients: last real peel by Thanksgiving. That leaves the rest of the season for glow maintenance instead of flake management, and nobody has ever regretted having their peeling week happen before the party photos rather than during them.
Two weeks out: the glow appointment
This is the sweet spot for a full facial — close enough to the event that the results hold, far enough that your skin has settled beautifully. Dermaplaning fits here perfectly: makeup glides over freshly smooth skin, and any brief pinkness is long gone by the party. Nanoinfusion is another two-week favorite, plumping hydration into the skin without needles or downtime. If your skin has been reliable and unreactive, ten days to two weeks out is also the window for a gentle enzyme exfoliation.
The week of: nothing new, nothing deep
The final week is for low-risk polish only. A lash and brow tint wakes the whole face up with zero recovery. LED light therapy is calming and downtime-free. A hydrating facial — no aggressive extractions, nothing experimental — is safe two to three days out. An airbrush spray tan lands best about two days before the event, giving it time to develop and settle. What doesn't belong in this week: first-time treatments of any kind, new products, or anything with the word "peel" in it. The week of a big night is a terrible time to learn something surprising about your skin.
